Pernah nggak sih kamu ngerjain soal bahasa Inggris, lalu ketemu kalimat seperti “The homework was finished by Andi” dan bingung kenapa kata kerjanya berubah jadi was finished, bukan finished saja? Nah, di situlah passive voice berperan. Materi ini sering muncul di kelas 11, baik di ulangan harian, PTS, sampai ujian akhir. Masalahnya, banyak siswa hafal rumus tapi masih keliru saat harus mengubah kalimat aktif ke pasif, apalagi kalau tenses-nya sudah campur-campur.
Lewat latihan soal di bawah ini, kamu bisa menguji seberapa paham pola passive voice. Mulai dari yang sederhana sampai yang agak menjebak. Kunci jawaban juga disertakan supaya bisa langsung dicek dan dipelajari ulang.
Sekilas Pola yang Perlu Diingat
Sebelum masuk ke soal, ingat tiga hal dasar ini. Pertama, objek kalimat aktif pindah ke depan jadi subjek. Kedua, kata kerja berubah jadi be + past participle (V3). Ketiga, pelaku bisa ditambahkan dengan by, tapi sering dihilangkan kalau tidak penting. Bentuk be menyesuaikan tenses dan subjeknya, misalnya is, am, are, was, were, been, being.
Kalau tiga poin itu sudah nempel di kepala, soal-soal berikut akan terasa lebih ringan.

Catatan Penting Saat Mengerjakan Soal Passive Voice
Satu hal yang paling sering bikin nilai turun bukan karena tidak tahu rumus, tapi karena lupa menyesuaikan be dengan subjek baru. Contohnya, “The mountains can be seen” benar, tapi “The mountains can see” jadi salah total karena artinya berubah. Selain itu, hati-hati dengan kalimat yang pelakunya tidak jelas seperti someone atau people. Dalam passive voice, pelaku seperti itu biasanya dibuang saja.
Untuk soal essay, jangan ragu mengecek ulang apakah V3-nya sudah tepat. Kata kerja tidak beraturan seperti break-broke-broken, choose-chose-chosen, dan steal-stole-stolen sering jadi jebakan. Latihan rutin sepuluh sampai lima belas soal sehari jauh lebih efektif daripada belajar semalam sebelum ujian.
Kalau kamu sudah bisa mengerjakan dua puluh soal di atas tanpa melihat kunci, berarti pemahaman passive voice kamu sudah cukup kuat untuk menghadapi ulangan. Kalau masih ada yang salah, tidak masalah. Justru dari kesalahan itu kamu tahu bagian mana yang perlu diulang.
